Complementary and alternative medicine continues to gain traction in Western medicine as a valuable contributor to managing diverse issues of concern in women’s health, especially as related to recurrent urogenital infection/bacterial vaginosis and the many varied symptoms associated with menopause.

In this video, Dr. Shulman discusses complementary and alternative medicine in women’s health. In this presentation, he focuses on the place of certain Lactobacillus strains in the treatment of urogenital infection; and how a non-hormonal phytoestrogen extract can help reduce many symptoms of menopause. Dr. Shulman also addresses the safety and efficacy of non-hormonal phytoestrogen use in menopause in comparison with other non-hormonal treatment options.
