Studies show resolvins of the D-series enriched in fish oils (omega-3) have diverse benefits on inflammatory disorders, including inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). This abstract illustrates the specific results of the investigation on the anti-inflammatory effects of the aspirin-triggered resolvin D-1 and D-2 in animal studies. The results suggest a greater efficacy when these lipid mediators are present, and have a potential benefit for the treatment of IBD.
