Dr. Brogan is board certified in psychiatry, psychosomatic medicine, and integrative holistic medicine, and is specialized in a root-cause resolution approach to psychiatric syndromes and symptoms.

In this podcast you will hear about Dr. Brogan’s inspiring transition from utilizing a conventionally trained approach to becoming a pharmacy-free psychiatrist and her personal experiences that precipitated such a dramatic change. Dr. Brogan advocates for an approach focusing on a root cause physiological imbalances in the body versus chemical imbalances in the brain. These physiological imbalances may stem from dysglycemia, thyroid conditions, and various others physiological components. Dr. Brogan discusses the potential dangers and addictive qualities which often accompany pharmaceutical approaches to managing mental health conditions. She also reviews the potential impact on psychiatric symptoms that may stem from commonly prescribed medications such as oral contraceptives, acid blockers, statins and others. This engaging and highly informative podcast is an excellent discussion on the necessity of approaching mental illness through a deeper dive into a patient’s lifestyle and nutritional status prior to embarking on any pharmacological therapies.
