Philip Calder, PhD: What Is the Clinical Awareness Regarding Resolution Science? – 3

At ASPEN 2016, MHICN sat down with Dr. Philip Calder, Professor of Nutritional Immunology at the University of Southampton in Southampton, UK. The conversation was about the omega-3 fatty acids, EPA and DHA, and specialized pro-resolving mediators (SPMs).

In this third video, Dr. Calder explains the clinical awareness regarding resolution science and the importance of pro-resolving mediators. Dr. Calder suggests that knowledge on this topic is lacking. Clinicians could become more aware of this area of research through better scientific publications, better communication surrounding the science and dissemination of the information through relevant media.
