Diabetes, heart disease and other metabolic issues are on the rise worldwide and strongly associated with obesity. The ketogenic diet and ketogenic adaptation is not well understood and may play a role in reducing these chronic disease concerns. In this talk, Dr. Volek emphasizes a case method approach for managing chronic health issues specifically decreasing carbohydrate intake. Jeffrey Volek, PhD, RD is a Professor in the Department of Human Sciences at Ohio State University. Dr. Volek has studied diets that are extremely low in carbohydrates and induce ketosis to impact metabolic processes.
