In this podcast Dr Kadar discusses the rising prevalence of CVD risk factors such as hypertension, type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM), and obesity/overweight, preventive and early intervention efforts to address these risk factors. Yet, despite major global efforts to mitigate these risks, CVD remains the leading cause of death worldwide
Dr. Gena E. Kadar is an Associate Professor of Clinical Nutrition and Chair of the Division of Integrative Health Sciences at Southern California University of Health Sciences where she also serves as President of the Faculty Senate. Her research interests include improving interprofessional healthcare education and designing clinical nutrition, self-care, and lifestyle medicine interventions for the treatment and prevention of chronic disease. Dr. Kadar is a Certified Nutrition Specialist, licensed Doctor of Chiropractic, nutrition blogger, medical writer, and most recently, author of the acclaimed book: A Manner of Living: An Evidence-Based Guide to the Art of Eating Well, Living Well, and Being Well for Life.
